Sisters Arise Project (SAP) is a Non Governmental Organization operating in Nairobi Kenya. Its endeavor is to assist Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC’s) infected or affected by HIV AIDS and now living with their Grandmothers. The target OVC’s are from Huruma and Githogoro Slums which are along Kiambu Road, on the outskirts of Nairobi.

SAP was registered as an NGO under Kenyan law on the 24th of February, 2005. Prior to registration, SAP had been working in these slums for a period of two (2) years, establishing contact within the slums to identify the OVC’s living with their Grandmothers. Contact was made through the local leaders, the chiefs and the Head Teachers of the two public schools in these slums, namely Cheleta Primary and Kasarini Primary School.

From running Saint Monica Children’s Home for Girls to a Feeding Program in the slums, SAP works with great pride and transparency to help orphaned and vulnerable children of Kenya. Margaret Njoki Karanja, Alice Wairimu Karanja, and Perpetua Wanjiru Gatome are committed to excellence, not just for their organization, but the children they care for as well.
