Saint Monica Children’s Home – SAP’s newest and biggest project to date. Saint Monica Children’s Home is a home for orphaned girls ages 8-18. There are 33 girls currently residing at the home. The previous home was near Kahawa West, and is currently in a new location and under new management of SAP. Please read more about Saint Monica Children’s home.

The Feeding Program – this is a program aimed at ensuring that SAP’s target OVC’s have at least one meal each day. This program is in collaboration with the two schools, (Cheleta and Kasarini Primary) the local administration in the slums and SAP.

Uniform Program – Distribution of School Uniform, Shoes, Bags & Cardigans. This is done during the school holidays, prior to opening of school for a new term. SAP invites the OVC’s, their Grandmothers and guardians as well as the teachers to a Fun & Activities day. At this time, reviews are made, updates given, the children involved in fun & games activities such as singing and dancing competitions, recitals and drama skits. At lunch time, a special meal is shared by all. In the afternoon, their day is crowned by the distribution of new School Uniform, Shoes, Bags & Cardigans.

Free and Voluntary Training
– This is the HIV AIDS Training and Home Based Care Givers Training. These are free courses run by SAP’s volunteers to sensitize the community of the dangers of and means of prevention of HIV AIDS. Also tackled is the issue of Home Based Care for Persons Living with HIV AIDS. These courses have proven very popular within the slums and are rapidly breaking the stigma surrounding HIV AIDS.

Clean Up Exercises – SAP’s OVC’s are involved thrice a year during the school holidays in clean up exercises. Currently the OVC’s help clean up the halls that are often generously availed to them for use during their Fun & Games times.

Bridge Meetings
– Sensitization Meetings with Head Teachers, Church Leaders, Local Administration and Community Leaders. SAP organizes meetings with these leaders and has sessions where they too are trained about HIV AIDS. These meetings help bridge the gap as the messages are then trickled down the authority chain.
